First orientation courses

The initial orientation courses assist you especially just after your arrival. You will get to know important aspects of everyday life in Germany. You will improve your German language skills. In addition, joint activities are carried out.

The initial orientation courses are primarily aimed at asylum seekers with unclear prospects of remaining. If there are additional places available, asylum seekers with good prospects of staying can also attend a course if participation in an integration course is not (yet) possible. Persons of compulsory school age cannot participate in the courses. Participation in an initial orientation course is voluntary.

In Bremen and Bremerhaven the initial orientation courses are carried out by the local community college (“Volkshochschule”) and the Maltese charity organisation on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
